Tournament weekends are long and hot. These are the make-ahead dishes that have fed our crew between games. They travel well, hold up in a cooler, and provide relatively balanced nutrition. Most of these are for us adults, so I'll do turkey tortilla roll ups and fruit for the kiddos.

Our favorite tournament eats

Chicken Caesar Wraps

Crisp romaine, tender chicken, and Caesar dressing rolled up for easy, no-mess eating between games. We rotate through several kinds of wraps because they are so easy to pack and eat on the go - asian chicken salad, your favorite salad kit + protein, club roll ups, etc.

Broccoli Salad

A crunchy, creamy, slightly sweet salad that gets even better after a few hours in the cooler. Make it yourself or buy in the pre-made section of your grocery store.

Orzo Salad

A bright, herby pasta salad that's tasty cold and holds up all day.

Bean, Rice & Hominy Salad

A hearty, filling salad that keeps hungry parents going.

Chickpea Salad

A protein-packed, tangy salad you can scoop onto a plate or into a wrap.

M&M Cookie Bars

Faster and easier than individual cookies. We rotate through several kinds, preferably with some sort of nutrition like fruit. Blueberry bars and pumpkin bars frequently make our list.

Cheesecake Jars

I normally don't make individual desserts like this because it does take a little extra time. But these grab-and-go cheesecakes require no plates - just pack in your cooler with a fork or spoon!
